Analysis Notes

General This covers a wide body of Alex Ross’ comics work, from his days on Terminator: The Burning Earth up through Earth X.  Some Legion content is included.  A curiosity not mentioned in here is that the shot of the Legion included in Kingdom Come #1 featured the first glimpse at the postboot Legionnaires XS.
42 This page has Ross’ designs for Shadow Lass, Timber Wolf, and Karate Kid in the style used for the preboot Legionnaires/postboot continuity characters.  The basic appearance for Karate Kid was largely used when he was introduced in the postboot Legion continuity in Legionnaires #21, but the other two characters were reintroduced later and the design impetus shifted to other styles.
48 A headshot of Mon-El is here among the other Superman tropes.
71 This page has the Crisis on Infinite Earths poster Ross painted over George Perez’s pencils.  It appears again, smaller, on page 91.
92 This has Ross’ cover to The Overstreet Comic Book Price Guide from 1999, a tribute to the cover of Adventure Comics #247.

Amidst the childhood sketches here is the prototype of the Kingdom Come Starman, the adult Star Boy in a full-head mask.

This is the 1970s Legion print Ross did for the Warner Brothers Stores, which was priced at close to $500 each (framed).
